On Sunday January 23 2011 at 1:00AM EST, we will be upgrading some web hosting and email services. The upgrade is specific to domains being hosted on older Linux servers with the PLESK control panel.

The upgrade consists of moving current domain configuration, files and mailboxes to a new server. The migration will only take approximately 10 minutes, but website and email instability will occur for approximately 12 to 24 hours after the migration has been completed.

Moving a domain to a new server will cause the domain’s IP number to change; requiring changes to your DNS records. Updated DNS records take approximately 12 to 24 hours to propagate fully to other DNS servers throughout the internet. Some networks will propagate and update faster than others.

The service upgrade will NOT require you to reconfigure any of your services. All your usernames and password for all services will stay the same. FTP users should not that the website root directory will change. The new website root directory will be /public_html .

The new control panel and webmail URLS will change as follows:

Virtualmin Control Panel URL: https://svr3.dotnet-services.net:12000/

Webmail URL: https://svr3.dotnet-services.net:20000

Please note, you will not be able to log into the new controls panels until the migration has been completed.

The service upgrade will provide a faster and more secure environment for your domains. The most significant improvement you will notice is the email service. The new email service will include larger email attachment sizes (50mb), enhanced anti-virus protection and spam filtering, resulting in significantly less spam in your mailbox.
