This procedure should only be completed if the Outlook 2007 auto configuration feature fails to properly configure your Outlook mail client.
1. Open the Windows Control and double click the Mail icon to open the Mail Setup window.
2. Click on Email Accounts button.
3. Select email account by clicking one time on the Exchange Email Account to be changed.
4. Click one time on the Change button.
5. Click one time on the More Settings button.
6. Make certain the General Tab is selected.
7. Towards the bottom the window there is a textbox labeled "Seconds Until Server Connection Timeout".
8. Change this setting to twice its current value. Should be a value between 60 and 180
9. Next, click on the "Advanced" tab and make certain "Use Cached Exchange Mode" is check.
10. Next, click on the "Security" tab, make certain "Encrypt data between Microsoft Office Outlook and Microsoft Exchange" is check. Also, under "Logon network security", make certain Password Authentication (NTLM) is selected.
11. Next, click on the "Connection" tab. Under "Outlook Anywhere" make certain "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" is checked.
12. Next Click on the "Exchange Proxy Settings" button.
13. Under "Connection settings", in the https:// textbox, enter the following: exchange.dotnet-services.net
14. Make certain "Connect using SSL only" is checked and make certain "Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in the certificate" is NOT checked.
15. Under "Proxy authentication settings", make certain "NTLM Authentication" is selected.
16. Click Ok, click, Ok, Click Next, Click Finished, Click Close and Click Close
